I recently bought a new ssd since my old ssd is running out of space. I also have another 1tb for my files/games. My question is how do i install windows 8 onto the new ssd? I have placed the neccassary files into the new ssd, but everytime i change the boot order to the new ssd, the setup doesnt run. It just launches me into windows 8 on my old ssd. Do i have to unplug the old ssd first? If i unplug the old ssd, will it mess with my files on my hdd?

Did you clone your old SSD or your new one? OR were you wanting to do a clean install of it.

Also make sure you go into the BIOS and change the boot order to the new ssd and force boot off the disc or USB that has your copy of Windows.

It has to be in ISO form so it can do a clean install. Do you have your original copy of how you installed it the first time?

If you bought it digitally you can just download that into a USB or disc and install it that way.

You wont be able to install it using your old SSD since it's already installed and will just continue booting off it normally.

Alright managed to install windows 8 onto my new ssd. How do i transfer everything on my old ssd that is not related to the system to the new ssd? Is it possible to clone everything except the os and its related files or will i have to reinstall everything manually?
