this is my second(this was the first one) topic about this problem because the first one didn't resolve my problem(i just found the reason of the problem)

so I tried to play some games and the game would crash after like 2-3 minutes

after a litle troubleshooting i went into device manager to find this:

Untitled.png

so, the problem seems to be a nvidia gpu driver probably installed by windows updates

and now, whatever gpu driver i try to install it doesn't work. I tried using the gpu driver from the laptop manufacturer site, the gpu driver from the nvidia site and the gpu driver recommended by geforce experience but it still lead to this

Could someone try to tell me from where this problem came? I looked on othe forums and I found out that this happens when windows updates tries to install a gpu driver

I looked on the web and disabled the function to download and install device drivers from windows updates, i tried uninstalling the current driver using DDU(display driver uninstaller), went into safemode, uninstalled it, re-installed it but still nothing. i also tried to install the driver from windows updates but it gives me an error when is installing

the good part is that at least the intel hd graphics works so I can still use the laptop but leaving it as it is is not an option for me

this is the error that I get from windows updates when I try to install the driver provided by them:

• NVIDIA driver update for NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M - Error 0x80070002

What else should I try to do?

Thank you for your responses

Nuke the old drivers and reinstall.

i did that

uninstalled the old drivers then tried to install the drivers from the dell site. didn't work. uninstalled those drivers and tried to install the drivers from nvidia website. didn't worked also. also uninstalled those drivers and installed geforce experience and tried to install the best drivers given by it. still, didn't worked
