I recently moved my computer and now it turns on like normal, but when I try to connect my Ethernet cord it either starts identifying or doing nothing at all. Is my Ethernet cord dead or is it something else?

Did you change network cords or where you plug it in ?

It's the same cord and I have not switched routers or anything. I have tried both of my Ethernet connections on the mobo

It is possible the cord got damaged, from what you are saying you are using the EXACT same setup just in a different place,

I am indeed using all the same components and peripherals.

I was mainly asking is there a new line in the network connection,

say you had your pc directly plugged into the router

now

you have your PC plugged into a switch which could provide 2 new points of failure...

My router is in the same place and no there is no switch.

Then I would try a new cable, they are cheap if that isn't the issue then I guess you have a spare or can return it if they let you.

If you can access your router check if your PC is idetified with an internal IP-Address. If it is, set you PC to have that address as a static address

No, but i unplugged it for a couple hours and then i had what you explained.

It seems unusual to me that the router reset from being unplugged my dad had a router sitting on a shelf for months and it had all the settings still
