New portable laptop?

Tazman192

Hi.

In the market for a new laptop for uni. Kind of sick of relying on the pc's in the labs at uni so decided I'll buy a new laptop. I'm a cs student so a lot of programming goes on - half decent processor and good battery life (7h+) is all I need, with a screen size no bigger than 15". Budget of around £700. Any suggestions?

Cheers.

Minimum specs I would recommend

- is anultrabook

- Has 750gb sshd or 1th hdd or 256gb SSD.

- 6+GB's of ram

- Dedicated graphics

- a8, i5, a10, i7 or FX-APU. one of these for the CPU.

Not worried about dedicated graphics as I won't be gaming or doing anything graphics related in my degree. 8gb+ ram is standard on most ultrabooks. Rest I agree.

here are some strong options

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-R7-371T-13-inch-Touchscreen-Notebook/dp/B00NWHVEEE/ref=sr_1_7?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1439948667&sr=1-7

here's another good option but it's too heavy for what i'd like

but anything under 1,5kg is awesome. being able just to grab your laptop with one hand and taking it with you without even feeling it's weight it's awesome

AMD Athlon X4 750k; Gigabyte F2A88XM-DS2; 8Gb Corsair XMS 1600 Mhz; AMD Hd5670 1Gb DDR3; Bequiet E6-600W; W7 Ultimate x64

First one has quite low RAM (I already run out of 8gb ram when developing some certain applications) so would probably avoid that. I know I can get an extra stick or get 2 8gb sticks but thats extra cost. Second one seems good however, will read reviews.
