I need help!

      To start off I want to apologize for my English and if some things are hard to understand. I work in a place where they make products from meat. There's a lot of raw meat coming in the storage rooms every day. I have to keep track of it, from where it came, it's expiry date, where it'd go later(did the bones get removed from the meat and the meat itself was further processed into something like a sausage). There are also some other ingredients such as salt or spices coming in. But they come in larger quantities and are not delivered as often as fresh meat.

       I want to have a program that keeps everything organized. When the meat comes in I register from where it came, what kind of meat it is, it's expiry date. Then the bones get removed from the meat and it becomes available to make the finished products with. And a separate place where to register secondary ingredients which automatically become available for the making of finished products.

       And for the final products. There are some recipes, and we choose one, select amount that we've made and then it deducts proportionally from the available resources and gives it an expiry date.

 Is this even possible for a man without a lot of programming knowledge? Can anyone help me? I'll try to make up for it somehow. I don't even know what programming language I should use. Or how to even get started.

It sounds like an inventory or warehouse management software system might be what

you're looking for. I'm not familiar with the respective software packages, but

maybe somebody else knows more about that (or Google).

It's probably possible to program something like this yourself (and there are

many possibilities on how to do it), but it would likely take quite a while since

there are lots of skills you'd have to acquire in order to do this properly. Unless

you really want to do this yourself and have a lot of free time on your

hands it's not necessarily something I'd recommend.

It's not just about getting a working program, but also about creating software

that's maintainable in the long run (unless you specifically don't want it to be).

That's an area where experience comes in very handy.

Alternatively your company might want/need to hire some external people for a limited

period of time to do this.

Ah, This could be what I'm looking for, so far it seems promising but I've got one huge problem with it. I work there on and off. The people that work in my place know maybe 3 words in English. I'll try to look if there's an option getting it in Russian.

But yeah maybe excel would be guwd for you as you probably don't have the time to write a program.
