Hey guys, so this is my first post here on the forums, but I've been watching LTT for quite a while.

Recently I've gotten more into recording and editing video and that has created some questions for me. In several videos, LMG mentions Cineform codec, such as in the 4K does it matter, as well as one of the moving blogs, however when I recently watched the 36 Core rendering machine, I saw that they were using DNxHR HQ.

So my question is, does anyone know what codec LMG is editing in, and then what the final codec they are using to update?

Also, I apologize if this was address somewhere else. I tried my best to do a lot of searching before posting.

Thanks!

Youtube is re-enconding your stuff with at least 2 different codecs anyway, also there are no clear technical guidelines from Youtube about how to set up your codecs .

It's probably the usual H264, but Youtube is always going to do what the fluff it wants to do with it, so I don't think this will give you any benefit .
