Looking for a New Android Tablet

I'm looking for a reasonably priced tablet (Not over $400 preferred, definitely not over $500). I've been eyeing the nVidia Shield and Galaxy Tab S 8.4, to give you guys an idea of the more technical specs I want.

The tablet absolutely must have a slot for an SD card.

Something I'd love would be a tablet that can use a stylus like the S pen, or if the tablets can't use that, then if any good, solid stylus' could be recommended that'd be great. I used to use a cheap $10 walgreens stylus with my iPad mini but I hated how it felt and writing and drawing with it was sloppy. So because of that experience I don' t like rubber tip stylus' but if one is reviewed well I'll consider it.

Xperia Z3 tablet compact. Because the one time you want to use your tablet on a beach or in a shower it becomes worth it. It's also very slim and light and the battery lasts for days and it actually gets software updates unlike samsung, which NEVER UPDATES the tablets.

Shield tablet has been discontinued. No new supply chain has made it's way to stores in a while even before they did the recall. I dont believe the discontinuing is official but it's pretty obviously being phased out. I would anticipate a new shield tablet in the next month or so but that is just speculation. The tab S 2 line is about to come out so you should just wait for that but not sure if the updated model will have an sd card slot....The older tab s line should be discounted very soon if you want a good deal on that.

ugh..not IPS and low res.  also its 16:10 format and in landscape mode you can`t see shit on it. ipad-like 4:3 is way better

the new HP Pavilion X2 10 2015 has a digitizer ( probably the pen will not be bundled in the retail package ) and USB C, it's probably the best mix for what you want, even if is not Android, I would take a look at it if I were you.

EVERY IPS DISPLAY IS TFT LCD, if you don't understand displays don't make comments about them PLEASE. Battery life of Z3 tablet compact is amazing, look at any review online and you will see it outperforms every tablet. 

 

If you call one of the top tier tablets on the market stupid you either don't have a tablet or have little experience with them.

Why the fuck would you even comment on something you don't have any clue about? 

 

The viewing angle stability of the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is very good. I have also actually atleast seen this device in person and it's STUNNING, extremely thin and light without feeling cheap and it has an IMPRESSIVE display. Contrast shift that you see in that video is actually common for IPS panels too, my laptop does that. And even reviewer in your provided video calls display great.

 

 

Also can't see shit on 16:10 display in landscape? How do you use a computer then, is your display still 4:3?

i had a cheap chinese tablet,lg gpad 8.3 and the ipad mini 2. so i did own a 16:10 tablet and it sucks.i couldn`t use it in landscape mode while browsing the web. and while we talk about small tablets,the ipad mini 2 is way cheaper than that sony ,has the better screen with higher res and ppi (without the constrast shifting) and the battery life is better.

sony is overpriced in us for some reason, didn't know that. in europe z3 tablet is cheaper than ipad mini.

 

z3 tablet compact has the same battery life as ipad mini 3 and it's waterproof and dustproof and it's MUCH lighter and slightly thinner. 

 

tab s 10.5 is a good tablet I agree.

Z3 doesn't compete with g3 or s5 imo. It has superior build. It competes with one m8-9 which is similarly priced.

Z3 doesn't compete with g3 or s5 imo. It has superior build. It competes with one m8-9 which is similarly priced.

no. iphones price are high because they are apple and they sell like hot cakes . and sony or htc want to be,but they are not. i personally hate the m8. z3 is ok but it lacks some features compared to the korean phones.

they are higher quality, you just can't deny it. Plastic can't match glass/aluminium. S5 feels like soap in hand.

s6 doesn't cost much more than what? it costs twice as much as g3 and quite a bit more than overpriced s5 soap phone. And it costs about 150-200 eur more than z3 without having stereo speakers, waterproofness and better battery life.

Yes Z3 has flaws, but it's not overpriced.
