So I'm looking to get a 4K TV on a budget or so to speak, and I came across the below model.

 LG 49UF770T.AFB

http://www.lg.com/za/tvs/lg-49UF770T/technical-specifications

What's weird is that it looks like this model is only available in my country (South Africa) and Australia and there are no reviews of it anywhere.

It costs R9,900.00 ($770.00USD) which is about the cheapest 4K 49" I can find by quite a long shot and it seems like a pretty good deal.

I can't find anything any major draw backs apart from I can't tell if any of the HDMI ports support 2.0

What do you guys think, it's currently on special so if I'm going to go for it I should probably do it soon.

What do you want it for?

I would not recommend this for gaming due to the latency

I would not recommend this for a TV due to that Shows are not broadcasted in 4k

I would not recommend this for a games console due to that they output at 792p and not at 2160p

Basically that. 4K has not been standardized yet and as such it will be difficult for you to take advantage of the high resolution. Some streaming services offer 4K but is it really worth it?

If you can find the release date of the TV it will give a good indication of whether it has HDMI 2.0 or not.

My bet is that it doesn't.

I'm on my phone atm so I can't do much research.

Refresh rate is 100Hz, if it supports HDMI 2.0 that means I can play games at 60FPS?

Netflix 4K content and other various 4K content I have.

Console games look good on it in store when up-scaled

Yes, Not worth it. In 10 years time yes, it's worth it, get in... but now defiantly no for a TV.

playstation-3-upscaling-comparison-20070Not always, it is either blurry or many pixels displaying as one massive pixel.

Some people say it is up-scaling make things look worse

10 years!?!? erm... no

This 49" UHD is only a bit more expensive than a 48" FHD TV

4K content is growing every month, I see more and more youtube and Netflix content available in 4K, which I currently view on my 4K monitor, and most manufacturers are scaling back on 1080p production.

I have SLI GTX980Ti's I can game in most instances in 4K @60FPS however some games I ether have to settle for lower res or lower FPS.

I need a new TV anyway so it makes sense to get the standard that will be used going forward if the price allows for it.

I have seen up-scaled images of PS4 games on 4K in store (not on this specific TV) and they definitely looked better.

So my question is not about if I should get 4K, I've already made that decision, it's about whether this 4K TV 49UF770T is any good, because for the price it's actually cheaper than some 48" FHD's here, hence why I am thinking there is some kind of catch.
