GTX 970 overclocks?

Go to solution Solved by spenser_l,

My Strix 970 has +150 on the core and +295 on the memory. Temps are round 70C-75C

I have a MSI GTX 970 gaming 4G and want to know what your overclocks are. My current overclock is +60 on the core and none on the memory clock. My current temps are 72 degrees Celsius. What are you getting and what do you recommend for my overclock?  BTW MY BASE CLOCK IS 1150mhz

my rough OC results for my EVGA 970 in afterburner are:

power limit 105%

Core clock - 105+

Memory clock - 400+

with fan speed set to my own user profile (don't care for silence under 60 degrees so i have it at about 40%)

I say rough because while i am passing bench marks with higher settings i have had issues in game with some pathces/tearing after playing for 4-5 hours so i am just slightly tweaking

What is everyone's actual boost clocks after their overclocks? In the 1500 range?

My card boosts to about 1430MHz

Wow, I guess I don't need to be so disappointed that my 970 can't hit 1500.

Most MSI or G1 gaming cards I've seen hit at LEAST 1500mhz but with a lot hitting 1550mhz or higher. There's always the unlucky ones though! For example my G1 gaming hits 1580 mhz stock voltage.

First build every: Intel Core i7 4790K, Asus Z97-A/USB 3.1 motherboard, Kingston HyperX FURY 1866 2x8 16GB Kit, Gigabyte Windforce GTX 970 G1 Gaming, Corsair Obsidian 450D Black ATX Mid Tower, Samsung 850 EVO 250GB & 3TB Toshiba HDD, EVGA SuperNOVA 750W G2, Corsair H100i GTX 240mm, Gigabyte Bluetooth 4.0/Wifi Card, Logitech G700S. Running on Windows 10

Surface Pro 3: i5 4300U with 8GB of ram and 256GB SSD. Running Windows 10 Pro

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I guess I just need to spend more time finding my stable overclock. 1379mhz boost out of the box isn't that bad though I guess.

It's hard to tell. The MSI Gaming 4G is not a binned card, so you will be under the mercy of the silicon lottery.

Desktop: Intel Core i5 2380P (2400 w/o iGPU), MSI H61, 8GB RAM, 256GB SP610, 500GB WD Blue, HIS R9 280, Antec TruePower Classic 550W, Inwin MANA 134, QNIX QX2710, CM QuickFire Rapid, Logitech G402

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L40D, AMD A6-6310, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Radeon R4 Graphics, 14" 1366x768

Phone: iPhone 6 Space Gray 64GB, T-Mobile $60/mo 3GB plan
