Firefox 'hangs' almost all the time. It does it on Youtube, on here when clicking the drop down menu from my name, in Facebook. I can barely navigate the web anymore.

It has only started doing this yesterday and I think it may be a virus but I've done a full scan of my computer and it came up with nothing. When it's in safe mode It doen't do this so I disabled all extentions to replicate it but it still 'hangs' even with everything disabled. I've also tried re-installing but to no avail. Besides using another browser, does anyone have a solution?

Haven't used the Firefox on desktop for some time now. Can't stand the mobile version though, it's by far the worst mobile browser, crashing, lagging, and using more battery life than any other program I've run. I'll put it this way. If I charge my phone while trying to watch videos on Firefox my phone still looses charge about 2% every 5 minutes. It's the only program I've seen do that.

I think the browser is good. I haven't had problems with it up until now.

disable hardware acceleration? That's what fixed my stuttering and hanging.

Why would hardware acceleration cause it to hang?

Your hardware might not be supported maybe? I've used Firefox on an extremely wide variety of PCs (Server 03, XP, Vista, Windows7, 8, 8.1 and now 10) and never had a single problem with it. You can always try uninstalling it and re-installing it, or just deleting your Firefox profile folder(which clears cookies, logins, history, addons etc).

C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

What phone do you have? I have no problems on my shitty 512MB dual core MTK tablet. If anything Firefox is even faster than the stock browser

Turning it off seems to have worked but I still don't know why my hardware would be incompatible. It only started hanging since yesterday, and before then all my settings were the same.

LG g4. The app crashes every time I full-screen a video and runs slower and far less responsivly than chrome or even the crappy default browser. I've completely given up on it.
