Hi guys.

I have a asus rt-n66u. I am just wondering why i find it lackluster with my ipad and phone occasionally.

Is it possible my area is saturated with interference?

My internet is shaw broadband 50 mb, i live in BC, Canada. I have excellent wired performance thats up to expectation, i just cant figure

why some days i will get decent twitch streaming and/or youtube playback (1080p on youtube). And then a day like today, constant buffering and low quality adjustment.

I am wondering if there are any ways i can diagnose this or figure out how my router is performing. I do not live in a large rental house. The router is on the ground floor but i use

wireless devices within 20-50 feet typically downstairs or upstairs. I power cycle the modem and performance seems better but a day later the same thing can happen. Any tips

or help would be appreciated on how i can improve performance. I have only 3-5 devices on the network so it doesnt seem over saturated.

Try it on another device, i.e. getting a different router from like a thrift store or something and seeing how that compares, or trying wifi over another mobile device and see how it works. One thing you could try is use the 5GHz band instead seeing as that will have far less crosstalk, generally speaking. Other than that, I can't think of anything other than just that wifi is generally horrible, horrible, horrible. Wired connections are still the masterrace.

I had the RT N68U and I ended up returning it, it is by far the stupidest router iv'e ever encountered. Try turning off the QoS in the settings because in my experience it limits the amount of bandwidth a single device can use even if you're the only one using it.
