Cheep Wireless Range Extender

Looking for a cheep, but good wireless range extender for my house. I live in Canada, so the shipping on the item must be able to go to Canada.

Although I wouldn't use it as a range extender. Instead I'd also get an AV500 powerline kit, any will do, and use that to extend the network. Then use the above "range extender" as an access points instead. Because range extenders by their very nature run slower than the original signal. Also if you have two devices on different sides of your network you'll still be sharing bandwidth. If you extend it with something other than wireless? You don't have that bottleneck.

I just need a cheep and simple solution. Speed isn't really a huge factor. The only thing that would be used through the range extender is some light web browsing.

I'd still make sure I'd get one that was able to be an access point. Because if down the road you decide that the performance isn't great you can still use the thing. And trust me, you say just light web browsing but things change. You might want to use a chromecast for streaming Netflix. A few years down the road you might get a portable Steam Machine and want to stream games over your wireless.

 

A range extender will slow down your entire wireless network, you'll want a way to still use it if you suddenly want to do more.

its literally just so I can get internet on the deck. If its gonna cost me more than like 30 bucks to do so, then I just won't bother.

 

edit: also i have 200kb/s down.... soo.. its not like I can do anything on my internet anyways besides light web browsing.

I still think you'd regret getting one that was just a repeater. Things do change and people are frequently unhappy with range extenders. It's a common theme on the forums and elsehwere. So I'm just trying to make sure that you're not wasting your money here.

 

Anyways, after a bit of a search around the closest to that I can find that I'd be happy suggesting would be the TP-LINK TL-WA801ND.
