Another question about modded Skyrim.

After installing JK's overhaul i am experiencing fps drops in cities and landscapes even though my cpu never goes above 80% usage and my gpu tops at 70%. Vram is at 2,5gb out of 3gb.

Ive had drops to 45 at worse before installing the overhaul, but now it goes down to 30 which for me is on the edge of playable. Is this just a limitation of the engine, since there are so many objects in a scene, or are there perhaps tweaks i could do to better utilize more of my hardware? Mind you i dont have any experience with (and i dont plan on delving into) LOOT, wyrebash/mod organizer and the such.

BOSS reports no errors.

Okay, That is normal. Happens to me all the time, Its because of the amount of mods installed, Its completely normal.

Anyone into skyrim modding knows that once you start installing different texture mods, it'll start to decrease FPS, especially in major towns and cities

my pc runs skyrim with a little over 200 mods and i would guess its worse than yours ... i get average 40fps so i have no clue why you are having problems sorry

It just doesnt seem right im getting low fps when theres cpu/gpu power still available.

Its not that it has power still available, its all the program is using,

Its kind of like saying

Why doesn't skype use 100% CPU usage?

Right. I was still hoping there would be some fix to convince the game to use more of the hardware. I wouldnt mind the 30 fps gameplay if i knew thats all i can get out of my rig. Besides i know people are using more mods than that and are getting better fps on similar or worse rigs. So if its not the components, then what is causing the low fps?

With Skyrim open try this, Open task manager, click on the details tab, look for TESV (The Elder Scrolls 5) right click, set priority (if your on windows 8.1/10 set it to realtime) High

That didnt help but i did find a solution. Went fiddling with the settings (to be honest i shouldve done that before posting) and found only the object fade slider would make any difference to the fps. Dropping it to lowest brought my fps back to a steady 60 everywhere with everything else at max. I then inched it back up and found that around 7 is where the most difference is. For me 6 is perfect 60 while 7 and 8 cause 30 fps. 

Strange but thats my fix ... i really didnt want to lower my settings when neither the gpu or the cpu were at max usage. Either way i suppose this is solved.
