What is ring ratio?

when i was overclocking on my msi mobo i came across cpu ring ratio and i looked it up and it said its the thing that connects all the cores so i put it to 3.4ghz but i dont know how to use it lol so any help is appreciated, my cpu is an i7 5820k @ 4.4ghz

It's your cache frequency for your CPU.

Its cache, does nothing other than throw out more heat IMO.

It really doesn't do anything. try increasing it, and my CPU crashes every time xD unless your getting into sub-zero cooling....Don't change it.

Are you upping vccin & ring volts?

 

It helps with benchmarking, and stuff like rendering.  Anything that uses lots of RAM & cache it will help with.  Gaming and things like that it doesn't do much though.

Yeah, I do all the stability jive....but nothing. I only deal with  the CPU ring...Ring ratio just kept it at stock, and upp'd the CPU ring. works fine like that.
