Caught between two computers.

Go to solution Solved by nikolaizombie1,

I'm currently between two computers. that would be a:

I7 5820k (Which is going to be OC)

EVGA Gtx 980 SC

750W - 850W Power-supply

And a:

I7 6700k (Which would also be OC)

EVGA gtx 980 SC

750W - 850W Power-supply

CPU water-cooling on both (Corsair HYDRO series h110i GT)

And both computers use the Corsair Air 540 case.

Both computers are within my price range (The 6700k being slightly cheaper). Both computers will have 2x2 TB WD B in RAID 0, With Intel 750 series PCI-e SSD. (Not the 1.2tb variant) plus Multi-colour LED's for looks.

I'm using them as a Gaming/workstation, for video rendering. I'm looking to youtube for a hobby.

What do you guys/girls thing? The 5820k is a six core, whereas the 6700k is a 4 core, but the things that the 6700k come with mean some better performance on things using up PCI-e lanes. However, the 5820k already has more usable lanes, so wouldn't that mean near equal performance with things in PCI-e / NVMe?

Any help would be appreciated. Should I go lga 1151? Or stay with 2011? I also cannot remember what then next "Tock" processor will be, and if there staying with the new LGA 1151, going with 2011, or going to go back to the Z97 (I remember somthing about 2 I7 5700 something C being the new high end Quad-core on Z97.. I think.)

Like I said any input would be greatly appreciated. :)

i would go with the 5820k in your case since you have a youtube/rendering hobby
