GPU OC guide

So, I'm gonna get the Zotac AMP! GTX 980 Ti and i wanna OC it, but can you give me some recommendations for a good application (i was thinking MSI afterburner, but idk if it works only on MSI cards or does it work for all, sorry for being a newb)

afterburner will work on any card, just get any OC SW you like, I use EVGA precision.
