I feel left out here what are some good alternatives to the like of gamescon/pax/E3 in the UK?

Just go to gamescom, totally worth it imo. You get a train ticket with the ticket you buy for €25 or so and you can use it for practically all trains.

Insomnia is more than just meeting YouTube gamers, it's got LAN events going on, escorts competitions, companies showing off their wares, even the likes of asus etc. go to insomnia. I really want to go, but I can't make the journey sadly. I was even considering taking my rig and taking part in the LANs for some fun
