PC freeze

Go to solution Solved by fboucher,

So just to share what I did to help others :
- I tried updating the graphic card driver -> nothing
- I tried uninstalling then reinstall the graphic card driver -> nothing
- I reapplied the thermal paste -> nothing (the cpu wasn't hot anyway)

and finally I found my solution : I uninstalled Windows, and reinstall as a clean install on 8.1, I didnt instal the graphic card driver and directly update to Windows 10, and during the update, windows downloaded the last version (the one I installed before) of my driver and job was done, no more freezes ! :D

So maybe it was a bad installation (but i doubt it since I installed the driver from the CD in my graphic card box), I don't know. But reinstalling Windows and let it find and install the driver did the trick.

SOLVED !

Hey,

I just built my new PC and i have problems with it :

- it freezes,it happens randomly and several times a day, and yet I do not see overheating, no more than 50 ° C.

- AMD driver responded and launched more (or something like that), it happens sometimes, the screen goes black and it comes back. This may be related to the problem above, in fact even if it's only half a second, running a 3D game 1080p all without graphics driver (as it restarts) it can crash the computer (I guess). I did the last update of Catalist but nothing happens.

- the least, no matter if I have not the answer, my SSD and HDD are ejectable through the bottom tool in the taskbar.

Here is my config:
Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair Formula Z
Graphics Card: Saphire R9 AMD 390X 8GB
RAM: 16 GB to 1600Mhz
Drives: 250 GB Samsung SSD + HDD 2TB Toshiba
Power Supply: Corsair RM850
Processor: AMD FX 9590 8 Core
OS: Windows 10 (this problem was already present on Windows 8.1)

Then I tried to update the driver as said above, I turned off the LED and lowered 2 fans to save energy in case the power supply 'is not sufficient, but vein.
So I turn to you for what to do and how to orient myself,
Thank you in advance for your help.

reinstall OS.

Go and update drivers.

Looks like corrupted driver install.

troubleshooting:

Go into BIOS and disable overclock(s)

reseat CPU into socket.

Reapply thermal paste.

Turn off default fan profile and make it higher to prevent vrm/memory overheating in afterburner

check ram with memory test

Check for broken ports of gpu

reseat gpu into pci slot

replug in power cables

etc

If you overclocked, go back to stock.

Hey guys,

Since I am checking powercable, I am wondering something.

To power up my graphic card which has 16 pin, I have a single double 8 pin PCI cable (like this black one).
Shoud I use an other cable connected to the power supply instead of the same ?
