Hi Everyone, I'm new to this forum and I have been watching LinusTechTips on YouTube for a couple weeks now.

I'm looking at a fairly high end gaming pc which I hope to start building in a couple months, (as soon as I get the cash)

So my question is, Will this set up work? I've read up on each part and I think it should work together but the last pc i built was when the i3, i5 and i7 was first released. Since then i've bought gaming laptops.

This is the complete build I am looking (fans, cpu fans and all that jazz included)

At this stage I'm not looking at overclocking, but I'll look at overclocking after I buy a water cooling system. If any of the parts listed had a bad reputation or there is a better option at roughly the same price could you please let me know.

use pcpartpicker makes everything easier

My Build: i7-4790K, 212 Evo, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB DDR3-1600, Intel 730 240GB SSD, WD Blue 1TB, EVGA GTX 980Ti ACX 2.0, NZXT H440 Blue/Black, EVGA 650W 80+Gold.

Most of the time, it's not the computer, it's the person using it.

I would agree its a bit overkill for gaming.  Id go for a 4690k or 4790k on a z97 motherboard like suggested above.    Probably dont need a 980ti(if you can afford it why not tho :D ) if only gaming at 1080p.   Also i would pick up a monitor, preferably a 1440p or maybe 1080p 144hz ;)
