USB headset, or headphones via 3.5mm?

 

Check to see if the 3.5mm jack isn't partially disconnected.

 

Unplugged it and plugged it back in. Uninstalled drivers from device manager, stopped Windows updates service and installed drivers, and so on. Nothing seems to work.

Tried all that. Headphones work perfectly fine.

did you see if both sides are set to the same number in playback options?
