Hi everyone, new to this site but it looks like you guys give good advice. One of my will build a pc for me but I'm. It sure how good his build is. https://pchound.com/e3fQzu/

CPU

Intel Core i5-4460

$188.97

Motherboard

GIGABYTE GA-Z97-HD3 (rev. 2.0)

$82.98

Memory

G.SKILL 8GB Ripjaws X Series

$39.99

Video Card

EVGA GeForce GTX 960 04G-P4-3962-KR

$212.98

Power Supply

CORSAIR 750W CXM series CX750M

$73.98

Storage

PNY 240GB CS1100 SSD7CS1111-240-RB (CS1111)

$75.99

Case

Thermaltake CA-1B2-00M1NN-00

$40.95

CPU Cooler

CORSAIR Hydro Series H75 CW-9060015-WW

I know that the water cooler is a little over kill but I think I like that if I ever want to go for something like a 4790k in the future. Also I like starting off with ssd and adding storage later. I will really only be using this for gaming and would like to stay around the 800ish range. The biggest thing that I am insure about is the processor. I'm not sure if I should just spend the extra money now and get something better or not.

Thanks for the advice!

Wow thanks for the quick responses! I do like having 4 ram slots on the motherboard so I have some room to expand there. I'm kind of starting from scratch so I though it would be good to have a good power supply that was maybe over powered now but have me room to grow in the future. That being said though I probably won't really do much crossfire of sli.

For gaming you don't need more than 8GB of ram, and you can get single dimm and get second later anyway. GPUs actually use less power than they used to (at least nvidia ones) and I don't think that you will need better PSU unless you want to SLI/crossfire for which you need more expensive MBO.

Do I need after market cooling for an i5-4460?

you can get a hyper 212 evo or a bequiet pure rock. if i were you, i'd get aftermarket cooling, but i wouldn't get anything crazy. the stock intel fan sucks because it's loud and doesn't cool all that well.
