Hello guys,

Im here to have the opinion of the pro's you are and the opinion of the guys who are updated with the tecnology we have today.

Like the title say I want to buy a new build to do my works in audiovisual area. So I need something good and enough and don't want to update it in the next years.

In my research I have in mind the next build but I don't if its too much and where I can save money. I don't have a specific budget but ofc no one want to waste money and If it's possible to save it I appreciate it.

CASE: NZXT S340 - 77,90€ or FRACTAL DESIGN DEFINE R5 - 119,90€
CPU: INTEL CORE i7 5820K - 419,90€
MOB: ASUS SKT2011-V3 - X99-DELUXE - 389,90€
GPU: ASUS STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5 - 399,90€
RAM: KINGSTON HYPERX FURY DDR4-2400MHz 4x8GB - 279,90€
SSD: SAMSUNG 850 PRO SERIES 256GB 2.5" SATA III - 168,50€ (just to run OS and softwares. I have a lot of space in HDD).
PSU: CORSAIR MODULAR CX750M - 104,89€ or NOX HUMMER 850W 80+ BRONZE MODULAR - 89,90€
COOLER: WC CORSAIR HYDRO SERIES H100i - 124,89€ or NOCTUA NH-D15 - 94,00€

Well, tell me things please.. It's better to go to the Z97 chipset? Im seeing the x99 is to expensive but I want perfomance so what you think? Where I need to change and why.

And btw.. I dont have in mind OC.

Thank you so much for the attention and patient. Anything I can help please fell free to ask.

The website of the prices and where I will buy it's here. The store is in Portugal.

My best regards and I'll wait for an answer please.

The change to X99 and its 6-Core and 8-Core chips depends on your workload. Seeing that you work in the audiovisual area, going with the 6-Core isn't a bad choice, but I really do recommend going with a better GPU in that case. GTX 980 or R9 390X would do a fine choice, but it does seem that the price difference between the cards are larger there than here in the United States. For you CPU cooler, since you don't plan to OC, you can roll with the NH-D15.

In the case of the NH-D15 I was looking more for that direction. I think liquid cooler don't make sense here. If you want to suggest another be my guest please.

The gtx980 low price in Portugal is 589€.. Do you think 970 dont do the work? The diference here from 970 to r9 390x is 80€. Worth?

My doubt for now is the case because there are to many options to choose in the world eheh and the MB... Im affraid of spending to much money without need.

I would recommend the R9 390X only if you had workloads that are in 1440p and even then it depends what software you use. If your software uses CUDA Acceleration, go with Nvidia, if your software is OpenCL, go with AMD.

16 GB of ram are quite enough, 32 will be quite an overkill. Check out Be quite pure rock, coolermaster hyper212 evo, arctic freezer i11 as cpu coolers

The define r5 has a better build quality than the nzxt s340.

Alsi the i11 will cool the cpu enough and silently if you have no plans for OC. (it fits in the case, i checked it)

Also get a  970 or a 390, as said previously, depending on the software acceleration, and you will be able to save up some more

If you can tell  us your budget.

I dont have a specific budget but ofc I want to save more money possible and have the results at the same.

Im considering the cm hyper 212 due the good reviews and feedback. Other wise I will get NH-D15.

The ram for now I will choose the 4x4gb pack and in the future I swap for more when I see I need and when the price is lower ofc.

Hurt my heart seeing the difference of prices..
