I have a intel Celeron g1620 cpu and an asus p8h61-i r2.0 mobo rev 2.00 with bios ver 0306 and I need to know if they are compatible with each other. Thanks.

If you're sure about the version number, then sorry, man. You're gonna need a BIOS upgrade. The G1620 works from BIOS version 0804 on.

What threw me off a bit is that the version you mentioned has a lower number than the first release according to this: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H61I_R20/HelpDesk_Download/ Is it an engineering sample or something?
