Should I try a different pcie slot

If it's on the primary x16 slot no, but you'd check if all cables are properly connected. Make sure you connected all auxiliar cables like the 6 pin and 8 pin PCIe and 8 Pin CPU.

Also I thought about the PSU because of that insane times and because I looked at your profile, if that's your MB and not the Rev 2.0, it's not that new, so your build come from the time of CX series problems

First you'd try another PSU, like for example from another PC witha good PSU or a friend's PC to confirm the issue, but If you want to get a new one:
