PSU Noise problem

Hi! 

So I recently made a new pc build and got a Corsair VS550 psu. Now after couple weeks of using it I've found out that it keeps this weird noise sometimes. The noise is not that loud nor is it constant but it's just something that makes me a bit concerned if it's safe to use it anymore. To explain it better it's like an engine you turn on and it goes like wroom then quiet and wroom again for couple of times. There's good airflow in the psu and it's not running hot or anything. Is it safe to use this psu anymore? :unsure:

what load are you putting on it? the only moving part and noise besides coil wine would be the fan

Chances are if there's no fire and your PC isn't shutting down you're good. It sounds like your fan is trying to exhaust air and having trouble? Is it possible you can send it back and get a new PSU (or preferably a different one)?

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

The noise just comes randomly, sometimes when I'm just surfing on the internet and sometimes while gaming.

I probably could get a new one but if the psu stays cool and there's no risk of it harming any other parts then is it worth it to send it away and wait for the new one?

If it's making a noise that concerns you then send it back and get a PSU designed to be silent so when it does make tons of noise you knows something's wrong when it does :) (hint to EVGAs B2/GS/G2 series)
