Device descriptor request failed (code 43) Usb extension not working

Hi, sorry for my bad English, I speak French.

I bought two usb 2.0 extensions to connect my mouse and keyboard to my computer which is far away. They work with my laptop, but not with my desktop. It says USB device not recognized, and these error messages:

What should I do?

Thanks!

You are not alone.  I am having the same exact symptoms on my Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H (I also get port reset failed and set address request failed based on what I'm doing).  I have also tried two different USB 2.0 extenders; the Icron Ranger 2104 and Gefen 2.0 LR.  Not exactly cheap pieces of equipment!  Like you, I have no issue using either extenders with an HP Laptop (ZBook 15) running Windows 7 and my 2014 Macbook Pro.  It's just my desktop that has issues.  I was originally on Windows 7 which doesn't report the USB failure codes.  I updated to Windows 10 hoping it would fix the issue, but no dice.

What motherboard are you using? Since you're only attempting to use a keyboard and mouse with the extender, you really don't need USB 2.0.  Instead, you could get a passive USB 1.1 CAT5 extender like: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=103&cp_id=10303&cs_id=1030313&p_id=6042&seq=1&format=2

I've had no issues using these whatsoever.  They even work with multiple devices behind a USB hub.
