Hello all,

If anyone could help me with this nightmare I will send you a box of cookies.  This could get lengthy but I have to try.

So when I boot my PC everything appears to be fine.  Lights flash, fans spin, Windows lock screen appears, I log in and start doing my business as normal.

Problem is I don't get a BIOS splash screen, or the Windows icon to indicate Windows is loading.  I can access my BIOS by hitting DEL but my screen will remain blank with "no signal", this effectively limits my ability to access the BIOS.  However, I know I'm in the BIOS because the "BOOT_DEVICE_LED" is lit on my MOBO and when I hit "F8 --> Enter" Windows will load and I get a signal from the PC.

Here's the twist.  When I try to use the MOBO integrated graphics with either DVI or HDMI to the monitor, I get the BIOS splash screen, Windows loading icon, and everything but only if my GPU is removed from the MOBO.  So, with the GPU pulled and monitor connected via MOBO graphics with DVI, I updated my BIOS to the latest version.  Update went smooth.  Installed graphics card, connected DVI cable, booted my PC and still no signal when accessing the BIOS but again I know I'm in the BIOS because the "boot_device_led" is lit and I can boot Windows by pressing "F8-->enter".

I'm not sure when this started happening.  I just noticed it the other day but I know this was not a problem before as I have been using this entire set-up since I built it in June 2013 and accessed the BIOS many times when I initially built the PC.

Here's my set-up (forgive me if I leave anything out)

Intel Core i5 4670K, not OC'd at the moment

ASUS Z-87 Pro motherboard

8 GB G-skill Ripjaw series DDR3 1600 Mhz RAM

Samsung 840 Pro SSD storage 256 GB

Fractal Design Newton R3 1000W PSU (I know it's overkill but its badass)

Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 GPU (Gigabyte Windforce, 3GB VRAM) not oc'd at the moment

I normally connect my monitor with DVI dual link cable.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated, if there's anymore information I can provide just ask.

THANKS GUYS!!

Try the card in another PCIE slot.

Try a different style of video cable other than DVI. (You only mentioned using HDMI with the port on your motherboard, not the one on the graphics card)

Try the card on another computer if possible.

Well I should clarify that I'm using the GPU right now, in the PCI-e slot 1.  It works fine as soon as Windows is loaded, I just can't access the BIOS using the graphics card.  Only if the graphics card is pulled and I'm connected to the monitor with internal graphics can I see and use the BIOS.  Then to use my graphics card I have to shutdown my PC, install the GPU, connect the GPU, boot the PC, and log in to Windows---->no BIOS splash screen, no Windows icon, no signal to monitor till Windows is loaded and the first thing I see is the lock screen.  Changes I made in the BIOS, while GPU is pulled, are saved and applied as they should be.  Just trying to make this clear as possible because other than this my PC runs seemingly perfect.

I'll try the PCI-e 2 slot. I don't have any other video cables to try at the moment but I have tried every HDMI and DVI port on both GPU and MOBO, can only see BIOS through the MOBO. Thanks for the help.
