"my documents" folder became root-disk-folder...

P1lot

Hi all,

Did a complete reinstall of my pc today. (win7)

Windows is installed on SSD C:

I want my documents, my picture, my videos, etc folders on the E: drive.

Did it the usual way and it all went fine if I made folders for example like E:\pictures

However, with "my documents" itself, I messed up and selected the E:\ drive itself, with no specified underlying folder.

I noticed this error and wanted to move it to E:\documents (which I just made), but windows no longer allows me to move this folder!

The error I get is something like "cant compile list of underlying folders under E:\System Volume Information" (translation might be a bit off)

I cant even move it to another disk or any other location for that matter.

when i open the user's filder via start menu i also cant find "my documents" anymore. It just shows all the my pictures, my videos and such, and E:\

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Thanks!

Updated to win10. This solved the problem, can now change the location again!
