Chrome ram issue?

Go to solution Solved by chicksoup,

I stopped using chrome.....

seriously though you could try clearing all the data and reinstalling chrome, but you might lose passwords and other things

So I use chrome, like a a lot of people, but I keep getting the "He's dead, Jim" page when opening multiple tabs at once (ranging from 2-5).

I know my RAM usage isn't that high; I have 12gb and only 3gb are in use.

... So I just looked at my RAM usage to double check this. It says I have 8.8GB... Where did the other 3.2gb go? Either way though, 5gb still open should be enough, shouldn't it? Why does this keep happening?

Can you provide a screenshot of your RAM stats?

Do you have a bunch of extensions/add-ons installed? It may be that an extension/add-on or a plugin is crashing, notsomuch a RAM issue.

That was with Chrome, OBS, and open hardware monitor open. 4 tabs in chrome. Not recording with obs.

I only have Adblocker+ as an extension.  Chrome is using 761MB of ram

EDIT: Durp... Just looked at RAM. It says 8.9GB AVAILABLE.... Still getting the "He's dead" every now and again; only when I open multiple tabs all at once.

As long as I don't lose bookmarks I'll be fine.
