This happened a few minutes ago. I'll explain chronologically.

  1. Computer bsods' while playing Skyrim.
  2. It attempts to reboot automatically. Stuff lights up for a second before immediately powering down, even before post.
  3. I powered it down, gave it a minute and rebooted. Nada.
  4. I recently had to RMA my video card so I figured I'd start trouble shooting with the video card. Disconnected power cables to it and restarted. Still nada.
  5. Took out RAM stick #1. Computer booted up just fine.
  6. Replaced RAM stick #2 with stick #1. Computer booted up just fine.
  7. Decided to put both sticks back into the slots they'd initially occupied. Again, computer booted up fine.

So, what the hell caused the crash? Why did taking out RAM appear to fix the problem? Is my RAM slowly shitting itself? Is the mobo about to bite the dust? Any ideas?
