I am building a new pc and wanted to do a fresh install of Microsoft's latest os. So I downloaded the windows 10 media creation tool and and downloaded the is. I then formatted a usb drive and put the iso onto it. But my issue is that whenever I try to boot from it, it displays the following:

An operating system wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operating system.

Press Ctrl + alt + Del to restart

The fact that it says Ctrl alt delete makes me think it is a Microsoft thing. I'm just confused as to why the iso would be looking for a os in the first place. Isn't it supposed to be a "fresh install"

No did not but I have created other bootable drives in this manor.

You don't just put the ISO on it, you need to use the Media Creation Tool to create an install disk with the flash drive.
