Hey guys,

I am buying a Swiftech h220 soon and I plan to extend it to graphics cards and my motherboard since its a Maximus V Formula as well as a resovoir. Since I'm a n00b with watercooling a have a few questions.

Can I mix the coolant already in it with another when I extend or do I have to clean it out and how so?

Even though the pump is 6W, would I need another even just for the motherboard and res?

Do I need to worry about any fittings with the motherboard or is it just cable tied on?

Any other important tips?

Thanks

The h220 does not have the power too push all that sorry. Just go custom all the way. I also believe you need fitting for the motherboard.

Ok, any recommended parts? I don't want to be spending over $300 AUS and I'm not really too sure which parts should get more of the budget.

1a. you really shouldn't mix brands or coolant types. either secure the same brand

Swiftech or flush and replace with comparable coolant.

read the following:

Water cooling FAQ - Some Basic Q&A

Water Cooling 101 - A good place for newbies to start

2a. the included pump in the H220 is powerful enough to do your CPU/GPU/Mobo

and reservoir.

3a. the ASUS M5F has already incorporated barbs (3/8") so you'd use a tubing and

clamp for 3/8" inner diameter and what ever outer diameter (1/2" or 5/8") tubing you

choose.

4a. first tip run it stock and shake it down for any/all bugs. find out its quirks and strengths.

then once you "know the H220" then go for add-ons and upgrades.
