So I will be doing some overclocking on my i5-4690k. I won't be doing like massive overclocking everyday. Which type of cooler should I get? And are there any coolers you would recommend? Here's the build:

the hyper 212 evo is a very good cooler if ya wanna go the extra step for watercooling I like the h100i

BeQuiet! Dark Rock 3 Because you misewell get a nice air cooler which will be quieter then get a cheap water cooler. Not worth it a,so the 390 is fine, someone mentioned above get a 970 if 1080p gaming but the 390 beats the 970 in every way

i7-6700k  Cooling: Deepcool Captain 240EX White GPU: GTX 1080Ti EVGA FTW3 Mobo: AsRock Z170 Extreme4 Case: Phanteks P400s TG Special Black/White PSU: EVGA 850w GQ Ram: 64GB (3200Mhz 16x4 Corsair Vengeance RGB) Storage 1x 1TB Seagate Barracuda 240GBSandisk SSDPlus, 480GB OCZ Trion 150, 1TB Crucial NVMe

Okay. If I do less than moderate overclocking do you think a hyper 212 evo would be good for my build?

A BeQuiet! Pure rock would fit your needs better, Linus has a video on how to paint the heat sink so instead of the chrome it's black or red or whatever color you want it to be.

i wouldn't trust the evo 212 for any type of overclocking on the i5 4690k. the corsair h60 will work just fine for overclocking. i have one myself and i'm running a maximum overclock on my 4690k of 4.6 ghz on the core @ 1.30v and 4.5 ghz on the cache at a vring of 1.32v. my temps are nice and low and don't go above 80 when i'm stressing it 100% with a synthetic testing tool

the h60 is not a cheap tool. it's great

get the h60 or the noctua nh-u14s or nh-d14

the h100i gtx is too expensive and is overkill

heck you could even use an antec kuhler 620 h20 with that build

Oh,.ok. So a hyper 212 evo wouldn't be good enough? And do you think it's better to get the dark pro 3 or a corsair h100?

the dark rock pro 3 is a pain in the butt to install. the corsair h100i gtx is overkill. look at my post above.

has your h60 made any noise often? And how long do you think the h60 will last?
