Hi all,

I was performing some work in my computer earlier today; long story short, I unplugged two SATA drives that form a RAID 1 array, powered up the computer and powered it down again, then plugged both drives back in.

The following power cycle shows the RAID 1 array as offline  :o .  Both disks are visible in the RAID BIOS, however they are both showing as available and ready to be initialized!

The motherboard is a Gigabyte F2A88XM-D3H, and the AMD RAIDxpert software is as useful as the BIOS itself.

Ideally I'd like to somehow get the RAID up and running, or at least get the data off 1 of the disks.  Can anyone offer advice?

Thanks.

I haven't got much experience re-building raid arrays, but isn't the idea behind the raid 1 array, that, if it breaks, you can take a single drive and boot to that single drive independently?

You could boot to one of the drives, create an image of the drive, and then re-build the raid array, and then put the image on top of the raid array again?
