6 (65" 4k)tv setup

Go to solution Solved by Sauron,

True, I was also thinking of getting one firepro W9100 to support 4k resolution

http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/workstation/firepro-3d/9100

Will this be a good solution for my setup?

The w600 will support 4k just as well. And if you're adapting to hdmi 1.4 you'll still get 30hz regardless. So there's no reason to spend more and draw a lot more power for your needs.

Hello, I want to build a pc that can handle 6 65" tv with 4k resolution. It is for a confrence room which will be using for demonstrating a product. It will be used for multi-tasking, giving each screen a task and sometimes expanding 1 task into mutiple screens. The only software that it gonna use is cesium (similar to google earth).

My question is which video card(s) should i use for this practice?

Thanks

as your not running anything intensive, Im thinking it wont need much, but thats just a crazy amount of pixels and Im not sure what it capable of displaying that. you may need mutiple GPUS just for the outputs.

you're in a bit of a difficult situation, the only cards with hdmi 2.0 are nvidia cards and they only have a single hdmi port per card, so only if 4k30hz is okay you can do this with like 2 960's or so (not for the horsepower but for the outputs)

What ports do these tvs have? Do they have displayport 1.2+ or only hdmi? If they support dp1.2 get this one: http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/workstation/firepro-display-wall/w600

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

I was thinking of the same video card you mentioned, the tv supports 4 hdmi only

Each tv has 4 hdmi only, using the fire pro with hdmi converter will solve the problem or its not worth it?

that's the unfortunate thing with most tv's, but you can use displayport to hdmi 1.4 adapters and get 4k30hz out of the 960's (no surround supported though so they will be used as separate monitors)

and with 2 960's you could do 2 tv's 4k60hz and 6 tv's 4k30hz

EDIT: i think a firepro will be more expensive (not sure tho) but it supports eyefinity with all 6 display's so they will be used as one massive screen (not that 65 inch is tiny :P))

it should solve the problem provided the adapter supports hdmi 2.0. If it only supports 1.4 it should still work, but you'll only get 30hz (which could still be fine for powerpoint presentations and such).

By the way I would avoid multi-card solutions if possible, they can cause some driver headaches as well as clumping up case space and drawing more power.
