So i have a Biostar TP45e Combo, i know its old and im planning on upgrading in a couple of months. and this motherboard has 2 ddr2 slots with an 8GB maximum and 2 ddr3 slots with a 4GB maximum, and i have 2x1gb ddr2 sticks in there at the moment and i would like to get new ram. So i was wondering if i could use a single ddr3 4gb stick instead of 2x2GB so that when i build a new system i can just move the ram over to the new system. I included the link to the manufactures product page if anyone needs it.

And just a side note does anyone know when the Corsair K70 will be available with Cherry MX Blues.

The thread belongs in the memory section. Either way, what CPU are you using? Be sure your CPU supports DDR3.
