A) You're going to have to give a lot more information.

B) You said it works fine, but yet its shutting down and saying no signal? ???

C) Yes, any drive connected that you want to function would need a data cable.... that's how they work.

yeah that's not normal but if you want to forum to troubleshoot your system you should give much more info

Hm it comes back on and works perfect after a shutdowmn is it getting used to ambient temps? Plus my VGA is still not displaying on the monitor and saying no signal.

How long does it stay on while first time booting? Do you get POST or even to OS? If neither, its PSU related issue with maybe some mobo power delivery issue on the side. If you get POST, its mobo having trouble keeping your settings (common after overclocking). If you get into windows, its probably update gone wrong.

As for the VGA, you need to give bit further info. You have monitor connected with DVI and it works fine but when same monitor is also using VGA it doesn't? Or its either DVI or VGA at the time? And if you can use DVI, why the hell would you use VGA???

Each drive (SSD, HDD and ODD) which you want to use for data needs SATA cable (or IDE if they are older). PSU can't read anything from power cable ;)

Well in that case the two problems seem to be related. Check all connectors and build again outside case if possible. You might have loose connection or short circuit. VGA should definitely show image if everything is working.

Just to be clear, do you have GPU and is monitor connected to that? If you are using GPU and connect monitor to mobo, you don't get image. BIOS only uses primary device which would be GPU.

Ahhh I see I have a graphics cars and yeah I reconnected everything in the case and its doing the same could it be because no updates\drivers\os are installed yet, waiting for dvi+data cable gonna connect and see what happens.

Drivers won't matter. VGA should work if everything is connected right and working right. Same goes with DVI. HDMI can be bit tricky with some mobos and GPUs.

If it keeps restarting I meant and I meant I have it plugged into my motherboard not graphics card (hence why I ordered dvi as dvi is the port on graphics cards)

The restarting issue might not be related to no video issue. That really sounds more like power delivery issue or short circuit somewhere.

It only does it once then works fine

Ah. Does it do that only when you flip PSU switch off and back on or every time you press power button? The first one is normal operation.

Yeah, that should be it. You can try to shut it down by holding power button (sometimes pressing it once) and then pressing it again to power on. That should work with just BIOS and will verify that everything is ok.
