i got a 120 gb ssd, and i thought i'd move my default installation directory from my C: drive to my D: drive and named it game install, but that messed up all my shortcuts, saying it cannot find e. g. chrome in the folder on the D: drive install directory although it was installed on my C: drive. So I changed the default installation directory from my D: drive back to my C: drive, restarted and now all the shortcuts work but i cannot access regedit. I also can't install new programs e.g. CC Cleaner as its giving me the same messege as for regedit.

Sorry I don't have english windows so i don't know what the exact translation is meant to be like.

Is there any chance of a translation? And you might have to re-install Windows.

According to google translate it says something like this:

Windows can not find C:\Windows\regedit.exe, make sure you write the name correctly, and then try again

Intel i7-870  //  MSI GTX 670 PE       ///       Intel i7-4500U  //  GT720M

Yeah I think your main problem is that you moved your installs folder. Bad idea.

What you should do instead for the future is just when installing a game or piece of software, is point it to the drive you wish to install on. All major modern software (games, steam, included) allow you to pick a directory.

Why do you need to do this though? Granted, for games, makes perfect sense, but with regular programs, your 120GB SSD should be plenty large. Just store all your user documents, and games, on a mechanical HDD.

Oh yes, you should just reinstall Windows. I don't know if this can be fixed, but by moving the program files directory, you've basically borked Windows up pretty badly.

Yeah, it's a pain in the ass, but honestly, you'll waste more time trying to find a "solution".

Echo. Just reinstall.

Had a similar where my laptop lost power during boot and i couldn't run any games or install new programs.

i tried CHKDISK but it just replaced a few damaged files with new files that was also corrupt. Then i tried to use the recovery partition on the laptop. Which apparently also was damaged.

Finally i used a recovery DVD that i made when i got the laptop and that worked.
