Help installing linux mint

I tried to update my graphics card driver then windows couldn't boot, then I called microsoft support, then I deleted C:/ because nothing but my os was on it, now I want to just switch to mint.

Im running off live usb right now, and there are a ton of hard drives/partitions.

I should have 4:

1tb hard drive

100 gb ssd storage

28 gb os drive

and a optical drive

However, I see 8 drives.

Recovery, recovery, recovery, recovery, ssd storage, recovery, recovery, 1000 gb volume that appears to be blank, and a 28 gb vollume,

My questions;

Why is my 1tb blank? I checked via cmd when I was getting my iso and it showed all my files

Why the hell are there 6 recovery things

Why is my ssd storage the only thing with what should be in it showing?

Have you mounted the partitions (without getting errors)? I presume they're formatted

as NTFS, which you might need to install a package for to mount successfully (this

one I think: http://community.linuxmint.com/software/view/ntfs-3g ).

As for why there are so many recovery partitions, no idea, I haven't used Windows in

a while.

Also, if you decide to install Mint permanently, just a general recommendation from

me: Unplugging all drives except the one where you want to install the OS and your

install medium helps to make sure you don't accidentally wipe one of your data partitions.

Not that you have to stick to that advice, but screwups have been known to happen on

that front even to seasoned linux veterans. ;)

Okay haven't tried that yet but for some reason mint can't connect to my ethernet connection, so I've rebooted and am checking the installation medium EDIT apparently my keyboard doesn't work either Another EDIT: not my keyboard, some usb ports just don't work. EDIT #3 changed iommu controller in bios to enabled, all my usb ports seem to work now. Checking integrity of the medium...

Another edit: I think something is wrong with my iso. Screw it, I'm downloading it again.
