Recommedations for Laptop Docks

I'm planning on getting a new Sager gaming laptop to replace my aged Dell that I've used for school for the past 4 years.  While it wasn't the best computer one of my favorite parts about it was the dock it came with.

This is what I currently use with it and it is a godsend.  I was wondering if anyone here had any prior experience or recommendations for universal docks that work with newer laptop models.  The specific one I'm looking at is this guy.

The laptop dock HAS to be supported by the laptop. Id wait and get the dock after

Yeah I figured as much the one they offer as part of the customization options is an Asus Universal USB 3.0 Docking Station (90-XB3100DS00010).  But I don't know if its worth the extra $160.
