Hello, So my GPU is a Sapphire R9 280 (Not X) and when I first got it, it ran all my games On the highest settings at a solid 60FPS. After a while of using it, the performance is just leaving me. I've cleaned it out and all, but the performance is still fading. Does anyone else experience this, or is it just me? Do I need to send it back to the Manufacturer or something?

What is your CPU?

Newer games require more power. Unless you're talking about the same games then you have a throttling issue.

Do a fresh install of windows, reinstall drivers ect ect.. Backup all the info you want/need. I wouldn't get a new card because honestly anything more won't be worth the money because in some cases your CPU will hold it back. Honestly maybe it's your CPU. Is the FPS unstable like sometimes you are in the 80s but dip down to the 30s or is it like a constant 45fps

Im only kidding... how long have you had the GPU? DO you have enough power to support it?

I have a 750W 80+ gold PSU

Yeah, Playing something like GTA 5, the FPS is very unstable, even on lowest settings, yet my card is more than the minumum

Keep the card. The card is perfectly fine for 1080p games. It's more then likely your CPU. If you've got s nice budget you could sell your current fx and mobo and get something like a i5-4460 and a h87 or h97 mobo.

By unstable you mean sometimes it's up in the 60s-80s but can drop all the way down to 20s outnof no where.

Well, from most of my play, it hangs around at 45FPS because I don't really see a difference personally between that and 60FPS, but it just randomly stalls and stops loading textures like the XBOX360 did under high load and would drop to 20-28 fps, and would stay like that until I restarted the system, yet it's supposed to be more than capable of doing such tasks.

Go play a game like GTA V. Could you record your CPU and GPU usage threw a external device like a phone or take screen shots of it?

I can have the Performance on the second screen with the game playing on the primary one, and take images if that helps

yeah just take a few, 1-2 while driving, 1-2 while shooting, 1-2 with some explosions ect ect.

If you wanna take a few while it's raining or something but those aren't needed.
