I am going to replace the fans on the Noctua NH-D15 with some red corsair fans (https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-fan-co9050017rled) will they be supported. And will adding a third make temps a lot better

Also the fans I don't use that come with the NH-D15 will they be able to be used as case fans?

You will most likely come across 2 different outcomes:

1. The corsair fans will cool worse and be louder (but hey they look alright).

2. The corsair fans will cool the same as the noctua fans, and be louder.

They will mount correctly most likely, noctua's mounting hardware is pretty lenient when it comes to fan compatibility.

Adding a third fan will only marginally decrease temperatures (talking 1-3 degrees at most).

The fans that come with the cooler can be used for any other purpose you want assuming you have the hardware to mount them (screws, mounting points, etc.)

Cinders: - i7 4790K (4.5GHz) - Gigabyte Z97X-SOC - 16GB Klevv DDR3 1600MHz - EVGA GTX 980Ti ACX2.0+ (1548MHz Boost) - EVGA Supernova 850GS - NZXT H440 Orange/Black (Modified) -
Unnamed System: i5 4690K (4.2GHz) - MSI Z97I-AC - 8GB G.Skill DDR3 2400MHz - EVGA GTX 950 SSC - Raidmax Thunder V2 535W - Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX

Ok thanks. I have done a bit more googling and choose these instead. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-fan-co9050024ww

They are more optimised for static pressure. I also don't care about a few more degrees and a few more decibels. I do not want the horrible poop brown/ vomit tan combination.

Much better choice. And yeah, the color scheme of Noctua is a love it or hate it ordeal. I think they look great, and my ITX system will be rocking nothing but NF-A14's and the 92mm fan on the NH-L9i CPU heatsink ( in the Phanteks Enthoo ITX). Then again, you can't even see them except the exhaust and CPU cooler.

I will say that for the build in my signature I took the NF-F12 fan off of my NH-U12S and replaced it with an  EKWB Vardar F3 and put the Noctua fan as a front intake.
