Witcher 3 Lag

Hey guys

I just bougt the witcher 3. And somehow, my game lags even with everything on low, in 1080p

I have a GTX 780

And a i5 4690k

none of them are overclocked. I don't understand what the issue is. I have my graphics diver updated.

I recently discovered that all my games lag. Like allot. I don't understand why, since i have a good pc.

But my SSD and my HDD are about to run put of space, is that the problem?

Please help

regards Soren

How close is about to run out of space?

Like 10GBs or like 100MBs?

I would recommend checking to see if they are thermal throttling.

That shouldn't really be the case. My friend has his drives at max constantly and it doesn't seem to affect his gaming experience.

It shouldn't but I've had my drives down to like 10MBs and very bad things happened lol.

But thermal throttling is very possible as well as driver issues.

Well, the newer patch did screw up the game's performance but it shouldn't be THAT bad.

I haven't noticed any difference in performance, to be honest.

I am too running a GTX780, and the card runs the game easily, so you definitely shouldn't be lagging...

Well, V-sync got sort of screwed over (having it on brought me down 5 fps or so for some reason and I also got a temp spike)

Well, i have 160 gb of space left on my HDD

I know, i know, that's not that bad, but after all, i don't have a clue whats going on. 23 fps on low, no post processing, no nothing.

I really don't get it. But in cut scenes, i sometimes have around 40-50 fps even on high.

Last time i cheeked, it was on 81 Celcius

Oh, and my SSD has 7 GB space left

BTW, all my games lag, or rather stutter. it happened suddenly. suddenly CSGO "stuttred". And so do all my games. they run on 40 fps, and stutter

Driver as i said was up to date. What to do?

Ok your hard drive has plenty of space.

Is 81 Celsius on your CPU or GPU and is that under-load or just at idle?

is the gpu dusty ? if so try cleaning it ....

and try a program like msi-afterburner here you can see if there is 100% utilization or not

No, the GPU is clean.

I fount out after some benchmark, that my GPU was thermal throttling.

It helped, when i turned up the fan speed. Thx everyone who helped
