Silent-ish computer build help?

Go to solution Solved by xTrekStorex,

get Noctua fans as mentioned above (NF and AF ones) and connect them to your mobo instead of the PSU (if you havent already) so you can control them. if the EVGA doesnt have a decent fancontroller (I dont know that board but I have experienced every onboard/software controller except from ASUS to be junk) then get some hardwarecontroller like the Bitfenix Recon, NZXT Sentry or AeroCool Touch Series. If you want something to program and leave be, a mCubed T-Balancer is also really nice.

remember to get appropriate fans with high static pressure for that h110i radiator.

you could also remove all the dust filters to increase airflow but I wouldnt recommend it since then you can clean your rig every 2-3 days.. ;)

Hey guys! First post here so please bear with me

So I've finally built my first computer and realized that it is pretty loud due to the fans installed. (It being on the table beside me doesn't help either).

I am currently using the stock fans that came with the case and my H110I GT

Here is my part list:

Case: corsair air 540

Mother board: EVGA Z97 FTW

Cpu: Intel i7 4790

Cup cooler: corsair H110I GT

Ram: corsair vengeance pro 2x4 gb 1866

Video card: still pending

Fans: stock

I know my case isn't the best sound proofing case and neither is my pump. But I was wondering if anybody has any recommendations on quiet fans that may help reduce some noise coming from my computer (preferly with LED)

Have you tried lowering your fan speeds?

Is that a locked CPU? and for most people noctua fans are too expensive. First you have to change the fans on the rad, corsair fans are just way too loud, AP141s from silverstone are good, if you want LEDs, Bitfenix Spectre Pro or thermaltake rings, for the rest of the case, so many options, you would use the bitfenix or the thermaltake rings if you want lots of leds or silent wings 2 for quietness, noctua is always an option, just rather expensive.

For the cooler Noctua NF-P14s Redux are a good option too, and are cheaper than other noctua fans

Is it the i7 4790k?

I would recommend cougar vortex or rosewill hyperboreas for the case fans and silent wings 2 for the radiator fans

so i ended up getting 2 noctua NF A14  and a NZXT sentry 3 and man oh man what the difference was!

although the factory corsair blue led fans were pretty sick with my build the fan noise was driving me nuts!

talking about fan controllers:

are there any lcd displayed fan controllers that will be able to support landscape and portrait mode? the sentry works like a charm but my ocd self is wishing that the informations displayed are oriented straight instead of sideways.
