So i installed my new MSI R9 380 and tried sniper elite 3 with ultra settings with it and i was getting a comfortable 100 fps but i noticed that my GPU tempature was 95 degrees Celsius...then i realized the fans werent spinning at all so i put on user defined fan speeds on MSI afterburner. Anyone know why they didnt spin at the start? Are you supposed to manually enable them or is there some sort of error here?

is there any switch on the card that says silent or fans off?

Try running a benchmark or intense hardcore gaming

Also I noticed this

Core/Memory

  • Core Clock / Memory Clock
    1000 MHz / 5800 MHz  (OC Mode)
    980 MHz / 5700 MHz(Gaming Mode)
    970 MHz / 5700 MHz (Silent Mode)

You are probably in Silent Mode.

Get MSI Gaming App from their website or just make your own profiles in Afterburner...

Well i downloaded the MSI gaming app and ran the sniper elite 3 benchmark with different modes gaming mode and OC mode. On gaming mode the temps were around 70 degrees celsius wich is acceptable but on OC mode the fans didnt spin until the temps reached 96 degrees and even then they just span for 2 seconds and stopped again until it reached 96 degrees again...
