gpu memory or better gpu?

Looking at getting a new gpu and spending around 175 ish. I think i came down to 2 seperate cards. Radeon R7 370 w 4 gigs of vram or a 280x with 3 gigs of ram.  So... in this situation what should i do??

And i am also open for other gpu's but to stay on this topic what should i do more v ram or a better gpu???

The 280X. If the 370 is using 4GB vRAM in a game, the frame rate is going to be awful anyway. 

 

EDIT: Basically, no point in more vRAM if the GPU can't use it anyway.

The 280X will give you significantly better performance.

Even if the R7 370 has more VRAM it will still run slower than a 280x

Especially considering the speed of the 280x when it's overclocked

280x is much better and the 3gb vram is the perfect capacity for the card of that tier.
