You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.

Put a $750 parts list together for a friend and wanted to run it by the internet first to make sure it's the best value he can get.

your build is not good well its good but your system requires more wattage your system will probable just randomly shut off with this power supply you currently have a 500 watt one but you need to atleast get a 650 watt one

Thanks for the feedback, any recommendations or should I just go with the 650 variant of that same power supply?

I truly don't know, I would say it doesn't matter, but if you read that somewhere else just change the PSU to a 650w+ it shouldn't be much more expensive.

edit: I thought you were the OP xD, that goes for the OP.

There are cheaper r9 390s and also the case doesn't have usb 3 headers.

and the card is to long making some hdd bays unusable

i would go for a sapphire one instead of a gigabyte one and unless hes going to get 6 hard drives that isn't a problem else i agree with you

Not that high but I wouldn't take that model he put.

I'm going to do this quick, so I'm not searching the power consumption (the card and CPU might take less power)

GPU: Slot+6 pin + 8 pin = 300W

CPU: 100 W

Rest of stuff: 50 W

Total: 450 W

A proper 550 W PSU should content his needs, I guess that in that site you linked they said 650 W for efficiency purposes

Also for the OP @TheAlmightyChalupa for more or less than 20 $ more:

If you're willing to do the mail-in rebates/not pay for Windows, don't mind an H81 chipset instead of H97, and don't mind a 290 at half the VRAM instead of the 390, you can fit a 120GB SSD into your build
