Upgrading question

Current system is Intel Pentium G620, DDR3-1066 rams, looking to upgrade to Intel Pentium G3258, can I carry over the memory, as in will it be compatible with the G3258 ?

But taking from intel page here http://ark.intel.com/products/82723/Intel-Pentium-Processor-G3258-3M-Cache-3_20-GHz , at "Memory types, it says DDR3 1333, I thought I have to get the one with 1333 speed, how it is so ?

the integrated memory controller really doesnt mean anything as long as your mobo supports it.

it runs also 1600mhz and 1866mhz so don't worry too much

I see, so let's take another example for Intel Core i3-4170 , my DDR3-1066 rams also will run fine with it right ?

Thanks a lot. So in conclusion for ram speeds compatibility is more to motherboard itself and not cpu, as long as it's DDR3
