Hello,

My mother just asked me to move the photos she has on her Iphone over to her pc so she can make room on her phone.  On her previous Iphone I simply plugged the usb cable in and the pc automatically detected it.  I am wondering what the problem is.  It does not appear under my computer like it did with the previous phone.  A quick google search seems to recommend Itunes but I have no desire to use that program.  I was hoping to just transfer the photos and videos into a folder like I use to.  Any help would be appreciated thank you.

Edit: The correction is in bold.  I had written "to" instead of "no."

This is why you use android. Lol, but anyway, go here: Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\AutoPlay

It shows the different options for removable devices and similar things. Maybe something's amiss in here?

As far as I know, you need a program called disk utility to be able to transfer files manually to Apple products

I think you need to install bonjour which installs with itunes

It allows your iPhone to communicate with the pc

Haha I hear you.  I use android myself.  I didn't see any problem in autoplay.  I have it setup to open folder to view files in windows explorer.

As far as I know, you need a program called disk utility to be able to transfer files manually to Apple products

Is this something new?  With her previous Iphone  (4 or 5) the pc automatically recognized it and I was able to open the folders and drag and drop photos into a folder on the pc.

See above.  I wonder if this is something new.  Maybe there was a change to ios?
