Corsair Dominator Platinums if you don't have a budget :) But if you have clearance issues i suggest you find some low profile RAM. I don't really have any suggestions for low profile RAM so you should do some research although if you want to go with Corsair memory still, the Vengeance series does have low profile ones. However i don't know if they have above 1600 mhz for their lp ram

Its a no brainer get the Samsung kit' date=' it overclocks like a champ (just google it and you'll see). And at $40 per 8gb kit, nothing beats it. The model number is: MV-3V4G3D/US -Freak [/quote']

I have this ram and overclocking is not going well. Even at very high voltages that I'm not comfortable running 24/7 i can't get it stable at 1866. I can get it to run 1600 9-9-9-24 @1.35v but anything higher it just doesn't want to be stable. The thing with overclocking is it's not guaranteed. It's good ram at a good price and will allow fully populated dims with any cooling solution I've ever seen. If you want faster ram, you will have to pay for the faster ram to be sure you get it. If you want low profile ram and it would be nice to get a good oc then the samsung memory is good.

If it is for gaming I'd definitely recommend 8 gigs enough. But for video editing you will need 16 or even 32 if you are so extreme.

I'd suggest the Corsair dominator Platinum 1866 if budget is not a constraint. They have great latencies

If you are on a budget then choose the corsair vengence 1866 which are cheap and best too...

How high can you get it when you push the voltage to 1.65V?

The samsung 30nm kit overclocks like a beast. Only problem I have with them is that they look plain without heatspreaders.

Anything from G Skill and Corsair will also do you well.

My Rig:

  • CPU: 1090T@4.1ghz
  • GPU: Gigabyte 7870
  • MOBO: Crosshair Formula V
  • RAM: 8GB 1333mhz
  • PSU: 650w corsair HX
  • SSD: 120GB Kingston HyperX
  • Sound card: Asus Xonar DX

Agreed with the headspreaders. Samsung ram without headspreaders ruin the computer theming if that is a factor in your rig. Won't match colors very well.

If theming isn't a issue, then they're a beast of a RAM for overclocking.

Big Gskill fan here. got some Gskill Ares @1600 MHz 8GB and its great but I'm just gaming. If you are editing it's better to have lower latency than higher speeds
